Education and Lead generation
 
The primary purpose of the WCD is to encourage the use of carbon offsets by providing a universal framework where individuals or companies can look up their peers and see how they are fighting global warming.  WCD will also provide educational content to ultimately encourage offset purchases. All participating offset providers will be listed, and users will be able to click through to those websites for information and purchase.
 
 
Protecting customer data.
 
In order to be successful, the WCD needs to work with all types of carbon offsetting companies.  These companies have a direct relationship with their clients and we understand and appreciate this is their data.  If a user is introduced to the WCD via a third party, that party will retain full control of the user contact information. Only a username and password will be stored at the WCD.  If a user forgets his username or password, that information will be provided by the provider, not the WCD.
 
The integration of the WCD with a carbon offsetter is a simple procedure, which can be done in hours via a web API.
